Stripes in the Lobby

In short: The Bank Manager reviews a crew in costume. Players are welcome to dress as robbers, cops or bank tellers for Bank Heist, in comfortable clothes and enclosed shoes, and should arrive 15 minutes before their session.

Friday. A crew of six arrived this evening dressed exactly as robbers are dressed in the newspapers. Striped jumpers. Black beanies. Little eye masks. One of them carried a sack with a dollar sign painted on it.

I said, as calmly as I could, that this was a bank. They said they knew. That was rather the problem.

To be fair to them, they came a quarter of an hour early, as the management asks, so there was time to put the telephones away and hear the briefing before Beatrice closed. They wore sensible shoes. Enclosed ones. I do respect a robber who dresses for the job and not for the beach.

A second crew came as police officers. A third came as bank tellers, in cardigans, with name badges. The tellers were the most suspicious of all. Nobody looks at a teller.

Clive came to work in a striped jumper the next morning. I have asked him to explain himself in writing.
